Q. Can my library access PSQ via IP authentication?

A. Access to the journal is via IP authentication from any computer within the subscribed institutional network. No passwords are needed, although this option is also available. Make sure your IP address range(s) are up-to-date by signing in to your library's account at http://www.ingentaconnect.com.

Q. Who is allowed access to the electronic version of PSQ

A. Access is permitted for an unlimited number of authorized users from one geographically contiguous campus or site at any given time. Authorized users are defined as faculty, staff, students, alumni and library patrons of the subscribing institution. Distance learners, alumni, and other off-campus affiliates may access online PSQ material if their Internet access is through the campus network. Subscribing institutions are expected to make their best feasible efforts to enable access only to those people who are authorized users of the campus network.

Q. What hardware and browser software are required?

A. Required is a computer with Internet access and a World Wide Web browser such as Netscape or Internet Explorer. Adobe Acrobat Reader will be required to view and print articles.

Q. Are the paper and digital articles the same? 

A. The "edition of record" for PSQ is the paper form, the electronic version being enriched with hypertext but otherwise not altered in any way.

Q. How is the publisher addressing the issues of archiving and permanent preservation? 

A. The Academy of Political Science promises to do everything possible to ensure continuing access to online PSQ material. Access will be offered to online back volume content files of the journal through Ingenta, as long as a current subscription is entered and maintained. The subscribing institution may download and archive materials at its own site and place contents on its own file server, including electronic reserves, providing that access to the file server is restricted to the Authorized Users. The Publisher also publishes print and licenses microfilm editions for archival use.
