The Earned Income Tax Credit: Knowledge Is Money
Katherin Ross Phillips examines demographic differences in knowledge about the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) among parents. Using data from the National Survey of America’s Families, she finds that almost two-thirds of low-income parents have heard about the EITC, but low-income Hispanic parents are less than half as likely as low-income non-Hispanic parents to know about the tax credit.
