The Meaning of Equality in America
Sidney Verba and Gary R. Orren analyze American beliefs and values on the issue of equality, basing their conclusions mostly on a large-scale survey of American leaders. They demonstrate that American thinking about equality is multidimensional, explaining why conflicts over equality defy easy resolution.
